Library Board President -
Anne K. Richmond
Anne got her first library card at age 3 when she was able to write her name on her card. Anne worked as a Shelver at the Davenport Public Library in high school (where she was occasionally scolded for reading the books she was supposed to shelve). Anne moved to Hainesville in 2003 and lives with her husband, Douglas Williams. Anne works for the Housing Authority of Cook County. Anne spends her free time crafting, sewing and woodworking and usually finds inspiration in books from the library.


Library Board Vice-President - Diane Klein

Diane is a long–time resident of Round Lake Beach and patron of the Round Lake Area Library. She is hairdresser and owner of Carousel Hair and Tan Center in Round Lake Beach.

In addition to the many years on the Round Lake Area Public Library Board, Diane sits on the boards of Cosmetology Illinois, Lake County Hairdressers association and on the CLC tech campus Cosmetology Advisory board. Diane is also on the Cosmetology Illinois hair education team, both state and local.

Diane is married to Jack Klein, they have one son, Joe and they live in Round Lake Beach, Illinois with their two dogs.


Library Board Treasurer - Laura D. Frye
Laura began serving on the Library Board in 2012. She is an attorney at Laura D. Frye, Ltd. and also serves on the Round Lake Area Chamber of Commerce. She is originally from Chicago, IL and moved to Round Lake in 2001. Laura is married to Henry Frye Jr, a Trustee for the Village of Round Lake, and has a daughter, Laura J Frye.

Library Board Trustee - Carolina Schottland

Ms. Schottland is an attorney with almost fifteen years of legal practice throughout Lake, McHenry, Boone, Winnebago, Cook and Kane counties and currently works at Zanck, Coen, Wright & Saladin, P.C. in Crystal Lake.  Her area of focus is general Civil Litigation, including Workers’ Compensation and Personal Injury.  She represents individuals injured in accidents. 

Ms. Schottland graduated from University of Illinois as a Chancellor’s Scholar with an undergraduate degree in Economics. While an undergraduate, she studied abroad at the Universidad Catolica in Santiago, Chile, the city where her mother was born. She then received her Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois College of Law, cum laude, where she was also a Lincoln’s Scholar and received a foreign language fellowship.

Ms. Schottland is an active community participant. She is currently in her second two-year term on the University of Illinois Extension Council, Unit 3. Additionally, she volunteers as an educator with the Lake County Forest Preserve and as program coordinator for the Round Lake Area Garden Club and Food Forest.  Ms. Schottland also volunteers her time interviewing students and parents for the Schuler Scholar Program and aiding in fundraising for Mano a Mano, where she served in 2016 and 2017 as co-chair of the Gala Committee.  She is also a consistent volunteer with EAA chapter 932 and volunteers with the Chicago Botanic Garden, primarily at the Buehler Enabling Garden. She recently termed off of the Board of Directors of the McHenry County Community Foundation, having served nine years from approximately 2008-2017 and serving as vice-chair of the board of directors and the chair of the governance committee in her final two years. She was previously also the vice-president of the Criminal Law Section and Criminal Law Liaison for the Board of Governors for the McHenry County Bar Association. Ms. Schottland has also been honored as a 2012 recipient of Best Under 40 in McHenry County and amongst McHenry County’s Leading Ladies in 2010.

Though born in Porto Alegre, Brazil, she has been a long-time resident of Illinois and has called the Round Lake area her home for the past 14 years.  She is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.  She is married to Bruce Schottland, who is also a local attorney.


Library Board Trustee - Deb Jones
Debbie is new to the Round Lake Library Board. She has been a Round Lake resident for over 15 years and lives in the Park View subdivision. She is married to Linda Norton and has a daughter who lives and works in LA. Debbie is an active member of the Grayslake Lions Club, works with the Lake County Medical Reserve Board and is a 10 year US Army veteran. She helps raise and train seeing eye dogs for Leader Dogs for the Blind in Rochester Hills, Michigan.


Library Board Trustee - Lisa Marie Smith
Lisa Marie Smith is a recent transplant to the Round Lake area but was raised in nearby Libertyville and has been a longtime user of the library, having lived in Ingleside for the past 25 years. She brings with her a wealth of experience in public intuitions, first, as a fifth grade teacher and currently as a youth librarian at the Vernon Area Public Library in Lincolnshire where she has worked for over 29 years. A dedicated advocate of libraries and schools, she advocates on their behalf working with the Illinois Library Association and the American Library Association on statewide and national issues.

Lisa Marie has a passion for history and genealogy and in her spare time, is a member of several local historical societies. She is the published author of the Arcadia Publishing book, Lincolnshire, part of the Images of America series - http://ccsp.ent.sirsi.net/client/rlapl/search/detailnonmodal/ent:$002f$002fSD_ILS$002f0$002fSD_ILS:2194661/nonmodal

She and her husband of over 30 years, Paul, share their love all things Disney, muscle cars and can often be found traveling the world in search of new adventures and local libraries.
